Our Doctors

Dr. Vicky Hsieh was born in Taiwan. Because of her parents’ strong belief in the importance of education, she moved to the US for her high school education. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego and a degree of Optometry from State University of New York, College of Optometry. She speaks fluent Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Dr. Hsieh trained at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Newington VA Hospital where she advanced her skills in performing procedures such as the latest ocular technologies (fundus photos, Humphrey Visual Field, pachmetry, etc), and specialty contact lens fittings. She is proficient in providing pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgeries and refractive surgeries, and diagnosis/treatment for ocular diseases. Additionally, her training in SUNY’s renowned pediatric and vision therapy program has instilled in her passion for conducting pediatric eye exams. Dr. Hsieh specializes in fitting myopia control contact lenses, including orthokeratology (ortho K) and daily MiSight contact lenses as well.

In her free time, Dr. Hsieh enjoys traveling and cherishing moments with her husband and her two daughters.

Dr. Pei-Shan Vicky Hsieh

Dr. Brian Kitajima was born and raised in Orinda, CA. He attended the University of California, Davis, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He became interested in the profession of optometry because he has worn glasses since he was 6 years old. He enjoyed seeing his optometrist because he was excited to update his prescription and improve his vision. When it came time to choose his profession, he interned at an optometry office decided that it was the right career choice.

After graduating from UC Davis, he attended the State University of New York, College of Optometry because of its very diverse patient population, strong pediatrics/vision therapy program, and strong ocular disease and contact lens clinics.

After graduating with honors in 2007, he was accepted to an ocular disease residency at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. At the residency, he gained invaluable knowledge in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He was trained to provide pre- and post-operative care for ocular surgeries, management of ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration, and treatment of glaucoma and eye infections.  Also, due to SUNY’s strong pediatric and vision therapy program, he enjoys giving pediatric eye examinations as well.

During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his 2 daughters. So much so that they opened this practice together!

Dr. Brian Kitajima

Dr. Ashley Dogra was born and raised in the Bay Area. She speaks English and Gujarati and can conduct eye exams in Spanish and Hindi as well. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Irvine and obtained her Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Go bears!

Dr. Dogra trained at the UC Berkeley Meredith Morgan Eye Center, Palo Alto VA, Travis Air Force Base, and various community clinics which allowed her to polish her skills in pediatrics, ocular disease, and specialty contact lens fittings. She is certified with MiSight and Orthokeratology Myopia control treatments. She has also obtained her certification with Eyepacs where she screens retinal photos taken in remote, rural areas to diagnose eye conditions in those who do not have access to comprehensive eye care.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, tennis, and traveling with her husband.
