Comprehensive Eye Examination
Comprehensive eye examinations are recommended every one to two years. We evaluate your eye health, and we determine what types of glasses will help you with your daily activities, such as computer use, outdoor activities, driving, and more. We perform eye examinations for the ages of 5 years old and up through adults.
Contact Lens Evaluation
A contact lens evaluation is an additional examination to determine which contact lens will work best for you. Properly fitting contact lenses are essential for maintaining good eye health and good comfort. We fit the newest and most breathable contact lenses to keep your eyes healthy, and we fit the latest technologies of multifocal and astigmatism contact lenses to match your needs.
Red Eye Examination
We will diagnose and treat any sudden changes to your eye health, including eye infections and foreign bodies. We will prescribe medications to treat any infections or conditions as needed.
Diabetic Eye Examination
Diabetes can affect eye health by damaging the small blood vessels in the retina. Everyone with the diagnosis of diabetes needs their eye health checked on a yearly basis, or more frequently if any diabetic eye health issues are discovered. Every comprehensive eye examination done at our office includes a check for any changes in the eyes due to diabetes.
Glaucoma Examination
Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve in the back of the eye. It usually starts by damaging your peripheral vision, but it can lead to blindness if it goes untreated. Every comprehensive eye examination done at our office includes a screening for glaucoma, including an eye pressure check and an optic nerve evaluation. These tests are necessary to determine if you are a suspect for glaucoma.
Cataract Examination
Cataracts are typically a normal change that happens to the crystalline lens inside the eye over time. Cataracts are when the lens becomes cloudy and causes blurry vision and glare. Every comprehensive eye examination done at our office evaluates your eyes for possible cataract development.
Macular Degeneration Examination
Macular degeneration is an age-related condition that causes damage to the center of your retina, the macula. It can cause blurry vision, distortion, and possibly blind spots in your central vision. Every comprehensive eye examination done at our office evaluates your eyes for possible signs of macular degeneration.
Optomap Retinal Imaging
We offer the ability to take an image of the back of your eyes in order to have permanent documentation of your eye health. This can allow us to better monitor for eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and any other conditions that might occur.
Visual Fields
We offer the ability to perform threshold visual fields, which are necessary to rule out possible neurologic conditions, retinal conditions, or optic nerve conditions such as glaucoma that can decrease peripheral vision.
